The jury of senior figures in the industry highlighted Cecilia’s success in being the only journalist to secure an interview with Lord Adair Turner on the day his reforms for the UK pensions industry were published. The piece was sent out on the Thomson Investment Management News service before Lord Turner had finished announcing his plans to the rest of the press. Cecilia was awarded the accolade ahead of competition from Reuters in the online and wire news segment.
Two other Thomson Investment Management News reporters were short-listed in other awards categories. Raji Menon was nominated alongside Cecilia for her work on pensions issues, while hedge fund reporter Ingrid Smith was short-listed in the investment writing category.
