AOL Video Adds Online Movie Downloads from Paramount Pictures Digital Entertainment
October 23, 2006 - AOL today announced a partnership with Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, that will offer consumers downloadable movies and television shows through the AOL Video portal. This announcement is in addition to the partnerships AOL previously announced with other major movie studios including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. Available on the Web at http://www.aolvideo.com, the AOL Video portal is a one-stop, high-quality entertainment destination to find, watch and share millions of free streaming and pay-to-download videos from across the Web, broadcast and cable television, and movies.
Through AOL Video, a wide range of movie and television titles from Paramount Pictures are now available for download with prices ranging from $9.99 to $19.99 per movie. Once downloaded, videos can be viewed offline as well as on other PCs and compatible portable devices. New releases, TV specials, library hits and cult favorites will be available from Paramount Pictures including Failure to Launch, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Chinatown at launch and new hits such as Nacho Libre and M:i:III will be available soon. The movie content from Paramount Pictures further builds up AOL Video’s library of more than 300 titles currently available from major movie studios.

The AOL Video IPG brings together free and download-to-own video content and organizes it into video-on-demand channels The channels presented by these new partners will complement the 49 on-demand channels AOL announced previously. Programming from these new partners will include:
— BlueHighways TV, a television network that explores the folklore, roots music, traditions, destinations, festivals and artistry of America, will feature bluegrass and western lifestyle programming.
— The Employment & Careers Channel (TECC), which produces, aggregates, publishes and distributes career management, recruitment and employment programming covering a broad spectrum of subjects including job acquisition, career advancement, money management and work-life balance.
— The Hip Hop Hall of Fame and its multi-media entertainment division will offer AOL Video users a piece of “Hip Hop History” through channels that feature daily and weekly television programming, concert specials and rare looks inside Hip Hop Hall of Fame events and artists.
— MyPath — TV, the Mind, Body & Spirit channel, will offer a deep collection of programming featuring recognized teachers and experts in wellness and spirituality to inform, enlighten, and rejuvenate.
— Plum, which produces highly localized programming for popular destinations including Aspen, the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Telluride and Vail, will offer local news and informational videos geared for both year-round residents and visitors in addition to content produced for all the Plum stations.
