Gary Anderson’s contemporary novel featured at the 2016 Frankfurt Book Fair.
“strong believers in the traditional belief that America is the place to be free and succeed, and capitalism is the key to their success, regardless of whether or not they are immigrants.”
Author Gary Andersen released a novel entitled Code Name: Zeus. It was displayed at the 2016 Frankfurt Book Fair from October 19 to 23. The event was held at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
The contemporary novel tells a tale of a newly emerged immigrant community, along with its struggle to put up a united front in the midst of facing a disaster. German immigrants have settled in Kursk, Texas—an area that suffered immensely from the effects of the Dust Bowl years and the Great Depression. Two European newcomers with deep pockets put them out of their misery and save them from further suffering; the two men happen to be big believers in capitalism and the American way of life. Russian immigrant Robert Barzinsky and Irish native Jack Barnett move to Kursk. They pour their efforts into ranching and drilling for oil while creating a secret project that enables preparation for a major worldwide disaster.
In describing the characters of his book, the author states that they are “strong believers in the traditional belief that America is the place to be free and succeed, and capitalism is the key to their success, regardless of whether or not they are immigrants.”
Code Name: Zeus is an interesting story that goes deep into the American dream of the early twentieth century.
