Liftoff Expands Internationally; Hires Former Twitter Head of Mobile to Accelerate Growth Outside Of The U.S.
Phil Gontier joins Liftoff as VP of International to draw on his extensive experience in successfully developing new markets and building geographically-dispersed teams
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- July 19, 2016 -- Today Liftoff, the leader in performance-driven mobile marketing solutions, announced its global expansion along with the appointment of Phil Gontier as VP of International. Gontier is a 10-year veteran of the mobile advertising industry, most recently as Head of Mobile for Twitter in EMEA. At Twitter he built and led a team focused on servicing the needs of top brands and apps. Gontier joined Twitter through the TapCommerce acquisition in 2014, where he previously served as Vice President and General Manager of EMEA. Post acquisition, he was instrumental in accelerating growth of the mobile ad business in EMEA by more than 2000% over an eighteen month period.
In 2006, Gontier began his career in mobile advertising as Sales Director at JumpTap, one of the first players in the mobile advertising space. Jumptap was acquired by Millennial Media which is now part of AOL. Since his first role, Gontier has helped scale multiple mobile-related companies and lead expansion into new markets. As the Vice President and General Manager of European Operations at Poynt Corporation from 2010 to 2012, he helped grow the user base to 18 million users with over three billion app interactions.
