Dr. Caine Delacy, director of science and research at Ocean First Education, will present at the 5th Annual STEM Forum & Expo being held this week in Denver. The conference brings together educators and administrators to further the successful implementation of STEM education into schools and communities. Ocean First Education is exhibiting in booth #735.
 
Delacy will present, “Integrating 360 Degree Video Technology to Engage Students,” on July 29 at 11 a.m. MT. During this session, Delacy will explain the value of leveraging highly interactive 360 degree videos to engage students in a meaningful three-dimensional way. Delacy will demonstrate the use of 360 degree videos as a means to stimulate understanding and exploration of marine science in the classroom.
 
As the director of science and research at Ocean First Education, Delacy aligns educational efforts with the work of scientists to create cutting edge, engaging curricula for grades K-12. All courses developed by Ocean First Education fully align with all state science standards, including Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and are purposefully constructed using the latest research and technology to inspire interest and action among students.
 
About Dr. Caine Delacy
Delacy’s background as a marine ecologist is focused on understanding the structure and function of reef fish communities and the role Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and other management strategies play in conserving those communities. He has studied tropical and temperate reefs throughout the world, focusing largely on the East African coastline. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Western Australia, and became a dive master at age 20.
