São Paulo, Brazil – WEBWIRE

Christie®, a world leader in advanced cinema technologies and visual displays, will showcase a range of innovative cinema projection technologies, audio solutions and lobby displays at Expocine 2014 taking place at the Centro de Convenções Frei Caneca in São Paulo, Brazil, November 10-11, at Booth # 22.

Held for the first time, Expocine is the first trade fair exclusively for Latin American’s exhibitors, distributors and suppliers of technologies, services and products for the exhibition market. The event will include presentations and discussion panels with market professionals; screenings; press conferences; a tradeshow with 37 booths; and the most up-to-date news for the market.

“Brazil is one of the most important and growing exhibition markets in the world, with more than 300 screens currently under construction, and one of the main sources of growth in ticket sales throughout Latin America,” explains Bruno Tavares, general manager of Christie Digital Systems South America Ltda. “So we are very pleased to showcase our leading cinema solutions in this country and being part of this first convention totally focused in the exhibition industry”.

“Through our participation at this conference event we hope to further strengthen the Christie brand and our cinema offerings in Brazil and Latin America, and work even more closely with our partners to provide better service and support to valued customers in this region.”

Additionally, Tavares will join a team of local industry experts who represent the cinema industry technology sector for a panel discussion titled “What is the greatest challenge for the post digitalization Cinema?” which will take place on November 11 at 10:00 a.m. Specialists’ anticipate that by year-end 90 percent of Brazilian screens will be fully digital. Now cinema owners have to think about what the future holds, beyond digitalization. To answer this question, Expocine will held this forum with professionals from different areas of the industry to talk about the next step, and about the challenges that exhibitors and producers will face after the complete digitalization.
