IBTTA Global Summit Focuses on New Technologies Transforming Modern Highway Systems Across the Globe

Innovation, Road Safety and Environmental Sustainability Take Center Stage at IBTTA’s Global Summit in Prague, Czech Republic

The IBTTA Global Summit: Innovations & Technologies for Sustainable Mobility, Environment and Road Safety taking place in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, serves as a “one-stop shop” for the latest technologies transforming rapidly evolving modern highway systems across the globe. The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the worldwide association representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them, with support from ASECAP, the European Association of Toll Road Concessionaire Companies, have brought together transportation and tolling leaders to share and explore new technologies that are making mobility more efficient for drivers.

The 2014 IBTTA Global Summit began this past Sunday, October 19th with a technical tour highlighting some of the newest Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies on the Czech Motorway.  The Summit continues through today where more than one hundred conference attendees will hear discussions centering on “The Technology of Highway Safety” and “Road-User Charging & Tolling Around the World.”

Transportation is the backbone of our society. Providing customers the most technologically advanced, highest-quality road and road service is our industry’s number one priority.”

Transportation leaders at the IBTTA Global Summit are sharing best practices in the areas of policy, finance, environment and technology. During the 2014 Global Summit, attendees are gaining new insights into customer expectations, emerging new forms of road user charging, the rise of Big Data and smart cities. The discussions and presentations are showcasing the differences and similarities among the technologies used in the global tolling market.
