Hearst Magazines Introduces New Suite of Resources for Mid- and Large-Sized Publishers

Hearst Magazines Publishing Services Offers Custom Programs that Leverage Hearst’s Scale & Expertise

New York, NY – WEBWIRE

Hearst Magazines, one of the world’s largest magazine media companies, today launched Hearst Magazines Publishing Services (HMPS), a new division offering mid- and large-sized consumer magazine publishers a complete range of print and digital services. The announcement was made by David Carey, president of Hearst Magazines, and John Loughlin, executive vice president and general manager of Hearst Magazines, who will oversee the new function.

Through its wholly owned company CDS Global, Hearst Magazines has been a service provider to the publishing industry for more than 30 years, currently managing end-to-end business process outsourcing across 450 print and digital magazine titles, from order management and payment to customer service and business intelligence. HMPS builds on CDS Global’s services approach, offering a complimentary set of products and services, including consumer marketing and circulation, procurement, digital edition development, production and distribution, as well as consultation around content creation and advertising sales. HMPS will enable publishing companies to optimize their businesses and deliver improved financial performance by leveraging Hearst’s infrastructure and scale.

“Scale is critical to long-term success as the media industry evolves and businesses like printers, paper manufacturers and wholesalers consolidate,” Carey said. “This is an opportunity for mid-sized publishers to leverage our scale and services, including sophisticated circulation modeling, a powerfully deep consumer database and our proprietary digital edition and Web content management platforms. We’re confident that it will be beneficial to other publishing companies and the industry as a whole.”

“We have built highly successful and skilled teams, developed processes that leverage technology to deliver cost-effective results and forged exceptionally strong relationships with leading suppliers,” Loughlin said. “Now, we’re offering our services to other publishing companies to help improve bottom lines and position them to pursue investment and innovation.”

HMPS services are customized and may include:
