Disston™ Company Introduces New Fit-Al® Jigsaw Blade

Disston™, the global manufacturer of a wide range of power tool accessory products for DIY, contractor and industrial markets, has just developed and launched a new line of jigsaw blades utilizing exclusive patented technology named the Fit-Al®.
The new line of products will cover a variety of tough task situations: cutting in wood, plastic, metal, ceramic and tile. The Fit-Al blades will be offered in high carbon steel, high speed steel, bi-metal and tungsten carbide. True to the Disston line of saw blade products, the Fit-Al jigsaw line will offer precision ground teeth for better life and performance.
The announcement was made by Jim Kenney, Product Marketing Manager for Disston.
“Our primary objective in developing this new Fit-Al line of products was twofold,” said Kenney. “We wanted to serve our valuable retail and distribution partners by eliminating multiple SKUs and inventory of blades. Instead of carrying both a universal shank and a T-shank, now they only need to stock and sell one shank—the Fit-Al shank. Secondly, we also wanted to make it an easier shopping experience for the end user. Let’s face it, when you are at the store and you remember to grab some blades, do you really remember what make and model jigsaw you have at home? This shank addresses that conundrum and takes the guess work and fear out of buying the wrong shank.”
The new shank will be clearly marketed on all of the packaging and point of purchase signage. The packaging is clear and concise, featuring color-coded card artwork with eye-catching blade-type call outs. Each and every package will also include the Fit-Al iconography to further communicate the shank technology and eliminate any confusion at shelf.
In addition to product packaging, the new logo is being incorporated into all marketing materials including website, social media, cataloging and other forms of communications.
Disston retail partners and media outlets may use the new logo immediately as needed. We will be unveiling the new blade packaging at the upcoming National Hardware Show® in May at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Disston also markets a wide range of products under brand names that include Blu-Mol®, Blu-Mol Xtreme®, RemGrit® and Aggressor®.
