NetGain Technologies makes official statement on Microsoft XP End of Life
Managed services provider will continue to provide best possible service after manufacturer support expires
NetGain Technologies has published their official position on the Microsoft XP End of Life event tomorrow, April 8, 2014.
“Although NetGain Technologies highly recommends upgrading due to the lack of manufacturer support, which will expose growing security risks, we will continue to provide service on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003, Small business Server 2003 and Office 2003,” said NetGain Technologies Executive Vice President of Service, Rob Wildman. “However, should an event occur that requires manufacturing support, our clients may be ‘forced’ to upgrade to bring resolution to a potential issue.”
The managed services provider recently held a webinar centered about the details of the event occurring later this spring. By April, the group of 2003 products will be 11 years old, and Windows XP will be 13. Click here to view webinar.
“End of support doesn’t mean your computer will stop working or that previous updates will not be available,” said NetGain Technologies’ Technical Director and Microsoft expert, Bill Bryant. “However, it will imply that many new versions of existing applications will not work or be supported, creating a security and compliance risk.”
NetGain Technologies is a Microsoft gold partner and has been a trusted reseller for their solution sets for 24 years, “Since Windows came out,” said Mark Jacobson, CEO.
