Extension of Aryl Phosphines and Phosphinic Acids Production Capacity
The aryl phosphines and phosphinic acids capacity extension will enable Special Materials Company (SMC) to address the current market’s needs.
New York, NY,----- Special Materials Company ;(SMC) announces that has completed its latest capacity expansion of aryl phosphines and phosphinic acids at its Yancheng, Jiangsu, China, joint venture plant. The facility will increase production of Benzene Phosphinic Acid (BZPA, a.k.a. Phenylphosphonic acid) as well as production of the phosphinate salts Sodium Benzene Phosphinate (Na-BZPA) and Potassium Benzene Phosphinate (K-BZPA).
“Our Yancheng facility is an excellent base of operations to address the current market’s needs. Aryl phosphorous derivatives find use as building blocks for a variety of niche industrial applications such as catalysts and intermediates in the fields of high performance polymers, yarn production, metal recovery, corrosion protection in metalworking ﬂuids, dispersants, and lubricity of high-temperature greases,” said Kevin Huber, Executive Vice President of Special Materials Company.
In addition to the new Aryl Phosphines expansion, the Yancheng site produces phosphorous based flame retardants.
