8th Global Money Transfer Summit

As every year, the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN) is inviting money transfer professionals from all over the world to the major event of the industry - the 8th Global Money Transfer Summit.

This year’s London Summit will take place on 29th & 30th October 2013 at The Tower Hotel, London, UK.

The event is open to members and non-members alike, and attracts delegates from across the world that come not only to hear from our fantastic array of speakers but also to meet their fellow industry partners. In particular they are looking to cement existing relationships or create new ones.

Remittance flows to developing countries have more than quadrupled since 2000. According to the World Bank, officially recorded remittance flows to developing countries reached an estimated $401 billion in 2012, growing by 5.3 percent compared with 2011. Remittance flows are expected to grow at an average of 8.8 percent annual rate during 2013-2015 to about $515 billion in 2015. The remittances industry is being challenged once more after the financial crisis of 2008, as hundred of money transfer companies face bank account closures and shutdown due to regulatory concerns seeking ways to mitigate the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing. The purpose of the Summit is to inform the money transfer operators, banks, foreign exchange houses, technology providers and other delegates of the trends that we are seeing and anticipating in the money transfer market, analyse the best possible way to navigate these challenges whilst complying with regulations.

Participants will be given the opportunity to meet potential project partners, find initiatives to participate in, collect information on innovative programmes aimed at leveraging the role of remittances for development, get in touch with stakeholders, participate in discussions, and promote their own activities.
