Court Sets Arraignment Date

PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Davao City, has set an Arraignment Date of October 30 at 8:30am 2013 for the previously indicted United Kingdom based mining industry financiers and operators, Mr. William West and Mr. William P. McLucas, for “fraud”.
 
On June 25, 2013, the Philippines ‘Department of Justice, Office of the City Prosecutor, Davao City, found “probable cause” and indicted Mr. William West and Mr. William P. McLucas, for “fraud” with Criminal Case Number No 146,525-13 and was subsequently filed in Court.
 
The complaint was filed by a Philippine businessman Edgar D. Martinez, a mining engineer, who alleged that both persons were involved in a “ruse” which resulted in him spending some P280,000 on professional services on June 20, 2012 for and on behalf of Canadian listed company, Martina Minerals Corp. which its President and CEO Mr. William P. McLucas agreed to reimburse immediately and ever since had failed to do so.
 
It is alleged that Mr. William West representing Ireland-listed Grafton Resource Investment, Ltd, majority owner of Martina, had throughout this period and as late as March 19, 2013 advised that “Grafton” was providing full financial support to its majority-owned public company, Martina, and part of that was to cover all its liabilities. Grafton continues to state this support to this day.
