Panasonic Enters into Contract of Global Partnership with FC Barcelona

On July 16, 2013, Panasonic Corporation announced the establishment of its global partnership with FUTBOL CLUB BARCELONA (FC Barcelona), which will continue for 3 years from April 2013 to March 2016. Through this partnership, Panasonic will collaborate with FC Barcelona on marketing activities and bring the passion of football to people all around the world.

Since April 2013, Panasonic has been carrying out promotional activities in the global promotion of VIERA as the “FC Barcelona Official TV”, including the display of 3D match footage in stores, shop front displays, goods campaigns and the use of the brand and image of FC Barcelona on the company’s websites and Facebook pages.

FC Barcelona is the current Spanish league champion and has almost 114 years of history since being founded in 1899. With a spectacular record which includes winning the La Liga 22 times, the UEFA Champions League 4 times and the FIFA Club World Cup twice, and over 170,000 “socios”, or club members, all over the world, FC Barcelona is one of the most famous football clubs in the world.

Panasonic has a wide range of sophisticated audio-visual technologies, including large screen displays and professional broadcast equipment. Through utilizing these technologies in its smart TVs and other home appliances, Panasonic will contribute to creating an environment where people around the world can enjoy the passion of sports and in high quality.

The agreement with FC Barcelona came about through the matching of the image of FC Barcelona as one of the strongest and most popular teams in foot ball, and VIERA, which is aiming to become the number one television brand.
