The DSI350 VTL Suite offers speed, capacity and cost savings for enterprise customers

Englewood, Colo. – Feb. 12, 2012 – Dynamic Solutions International, LLC (DSI), a data storage technology innovator, today introduced the second generation of its DSI300 series of Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solutions – the DSI350 VTL series. This new VTL series offers enterprise customers increased speed of data backup and recovery, and operational savings by further reducing the need for physical tape.

According to IBM, 90 percent of the world’s existing data was developed in just the last two years alone. From social media properties like Twitter and Facebook to live feeds and images to call center recordings and survey data, the proliferation of data is forcing companies to consider more efficient and cost effective ways to store their data. DSI continues to respond to this Big Data era by researching and developing solutions that meet organizations’ evolving and expanding storage needs.

“The storage industry has become a much more interesting playing field in the last couple of years,” said Jim Tarbell, president of DSI. “Between the explosion of data and evolving regulations per vertical markets, organizations can no longer rely on a one-size fits-all approach to address their data storage needs. They need to consider several aspects of their organization to determine what storage solution is right for them today based on how it can support the organization five to 10 years from now.”

The new DSI350 VTL series adapts to existing IT environments, is easy-to-use, and offers extensive reporting and searching capabilities. This VTL series also provides an additional layer of security to protect organizations’ data, and gives customers the ability to customize and expand their storage capacity as needed.

Among the new features included in the DSI350 VTL series, DSI has enhanced its entry-level option, the DSI350 - VV8, to extend even more storage capacity and faster data backups to small- to- medium-size businesses (SMBs). The VV8 can also be upgraded to the mid-level DSI350-M16 VTL by purchasing an upgrade kit rather than investing in an all new mid-level VTL. This upgrade option makes the data transfer process seamless as companies increase their storage capacity. Additionally, encryption-at-rest is now an available option for all of the DSI VTL systems.

About the DSI350 VTL Suite
The DSI350 VTL series gives enterprises greater security and added flexibility in data recovery and storage capacity. The suite allows businesses of any size to be more efficient, secure and competitive all while lowering costs. DSI’s virtual tape appliances provide high-performance backups and compliance assurance at a fraction of the cost of traditional tape solutions and with less time and maintenance required than traditional tape systems. The suite of DSI VTL solutions range from entry level (DSI350-VV8) and mid-range (DSI350-M16) to the most robust (DSI350-EV0) appliance built for customers with extensive capacity needs.
