Teradata Recognized Among Global Companies in Consulting for Business Intelligence and Information Management
Teradata receives ‘positive’ rating in Gartner BI MarketScope Report for consulting services and system integrators vendors in North America
DAYTON, Ohio — Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the analytic data solutions company, today announced that Teradata, together with its Claraview business, achieved a “positive” rating among consulting and system integration vendors in the newest Gartner, Inc. MarketScope for Business Intelligence and Information Management, North America, issued January 30, 2013.* Gartner’s MarketScope provides specific guidance for users who are deploying, or have deployed, Business intelligence (BI) and Information Management (IM) products or services in North America. It includes guidance for users in the data warehouse, BI, and analytics markets.
According to Gartner, the vendors in the “positive” category are “aggressively investing to develop BI, information analysis, PM (Project Management) and IM solutions to meet client needs. The service providers evaluated have a strong understanding of what needs to be done to grow their solution offerings for information analysis, PM and IM solutions.”
Service providers in this MarketScope are evaluated on capabilities and offerings that span Gartner’s Business Analytics framework, which establishes the elements necessary to execute a complete program. These may include strategy, people and processes, project management, analytics, BI platform and IM infrastructure. These projects often require a blend of business, industry, technology, project and program management skills that must be applied to organizational objectives, business culture and employees.
The assessment takes into account six major criteria: market understanding, offering/product strategy, geographic strategy, core products/services, customer experience and market responsiveness and track record.
“We are delighted to see Gartner’s assessment of our consulting services. Our global customers have been giving us positive feedback about our consulting expertise for years,” said Dave Klumb, vice president, Professional Services, Teradata. “Teradata and Claraview Consulting deliver business insights to our customers in several ways. These include creating analytical roadmaps and data architecture for big data analytics and data warehousing solutions -- and we have a proven track record for implementing and managing analytics environments. We are proud that Gartner recognizes our approach to the market.”
For more than 35 years, Teradata and Claraview have offered consulting expertise for business intelligence, data warehousing and analytics covering more than 2,400 analytics implementations for more than 1,200 customers across industries and the world.
