KONE to supply People Flow solutions for Suzhou Modern Media Plaza
KONE has been chosen to supply People Flow® solutions for the Suzhou Modern Media Plaza, a landmark project being built in the major city located west of Shanghai. The 37,700 square meter complex will feature two L-shaped towers, 200 meters and 150 meters in height. These will house a luxury hotel, office, retail and entertainment spaces as well as media broadcasting and production facilities for the Suzhou Broadcasting System.
Suzhou Modern Media Plaza was designed by Nikken Sekkei and is being constructed by Suzhou Erjian Construction Group. Forty-five KONE elevators and 24 escalators have been ordered to handle the traffic demands of the high-rise complex.
Equipped with very small machine rooms, the 35 KONE MiniSpace(TM) elevators are ideal for the different types of passenger and freight transportation needs in the office, hotel, and residential environments to be located in the building. Travelling at speeds of up to six meters per second, they are especially well-suited for the complex’s high-rise towers.
Nine machine-room-less KONE MonoSpace® elevators allow architects and developers greater design freedom while saving on space and construction costs. Furthermore, the KONE E-Link monitoring system will help maintain efficient operation of the equipment and a smooth flow of traffic within the complex at all times.
We are pleased to provide customized People Flow solutions for this exciting landmark project in the city of Suzhou" says William B. Johnson, EVP and Area Director of KONE Greater China.
The Suzhou Modern Media Plaza is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014.
The order was booked in the third quarter of 2012.
