Latin America’s Leading Business Forum Announces Expansion Plans in 2013
- New dates and city announced
- Latest Sponsor Packages released

GUADALAJARA, MEXICO - November 1, 2012 -- The most important business forum focused on the needs of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people has announced its plans for 2013 - including announcing a new city for its annual convention, an expanded focus for exhibitors and new sponsorship options.

The 3rd International LGBT Business Expo is expanding its scale and is to be held in one of Mexico’s premier business centres - the city of Guadalajara in the State of Jalisco. The event is produced by Latin America’s leading LGBT conference and exhibitions specialist - LGBT Confex.

As well as a new location, the event takes another step up following significant expansion since its inception in 2011 as the first business event of its kind in the region. In 2011 the event attracted 20 exhibitors and 85 delegates from a number of countries. In 2012 these numbers expanded to 35 exhibitors - including organizations such as American Airlines, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Mexico City Tourism Board and more - with 165 delegates attending from Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, USA, Thailand, UK, France, Netherlands, Argentina, Chile, and India.

The Expo includes a world-standard conference program with presentations from many of the thought-leaders in the area of LGBT business development - including IBM, American Express and the world’s leading LGBT consulting organization - Out Now Global.

In 2013, the event expands to build focus on several specific industries including automotive, mobile communications, banking & finance, technology, pharmaceuticals and travel. Another innovation extends to the production of short-form small educational workshops - focused on a range of business-related topics and covering specific LGBT consumer interactions with a range of industry segments.

An area that has become increasingly important is the inclusion of equality and diversity policies related to LGBT people in workplaces across Latin America. The advent of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in workplaces is a development that more companies are implementing in order to achieve increased productivity and enhanced worker commitment benefits as a result. The CEO of LGBT Confex, Ruben Sandoval, said that the next event is a significant step up from the successes his company’s first two years’ events. “We have been delighted to almost double in scale from Year 1 to Year 2 at our International LGBT Business Expo event,” Sandoval said. “In Guadalajara in 2013 a number of new industry segments will be emphasized which will lead to benefits for all delegates, exhibitors and sponsors. The lives of LGBT people are diverse and varied - and the approach of LGBT Confex reflects this. What our events do is to build the bridge between business and the immense potential that the millions of LGBT people living right across Latin America represent to business and to their societies. The 3rd International LGBT Business Expo brings new reach and insights to all who participate and we are very excited to be launching our next event in Guadalajara.”

Sandoval also announced a range of enhanced Sponsor Packages for the event - adding new categories and including a special mobile event planner sponsor.LGBT Confex is also exhibiting in the ’Out Now Business Class’ LGBT pavilion at the leading event for the global travel industry - WTM London World Travel Market - from November 5 to 8, 2012. Sandoval has been invited to present at an education workshop on the rise of the Latin America LGBT market for tourism at the Out Now LGBT Marketing Masterclass at WTM on November 7.

The 3rd International LGBT Business Expo is being held at RIU Plaza Guadalajara Hotel from September 05 to 07 and is the leading forum dedicated to LGBT people and business in the Latin America region. The event is owned and managed by LGBT Confex - the region’s specialist LGBT conference and exhibitions company.

Companies and organizations involved already with LGBT Confex events include American Airlines, Out & Equal, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Tourism Thailand, American Express and Out Now Global.
