Clearswift updates Secure Web and Email Gateway solutions to enhance content inspection and compliance capabilities
London, UK – Clearswift has unveiled the SECURE Web Gateway 2.6 and SECURE Email Gateway 3.5, the latest versions of its award-winning web and email security solutions. These new releases include enhancements to aid detection of inadvertent data leaks, improve compliance and reduce the risks from malware.
Data leak prevention capabilities have been strengthened by the use of the Microsoft File Classification Infrastructure (FCI), a first for products of this class. The FCI tags data that is deemed sensitive according to its file location or its content. These tags are written to Office files and can be detected in either emails or web posts, and subsequently managed according to policy.
‘Clearswift’s products take advantage of Windows Server’s FCI capability to build solutions that help customers perform advanced classification and data management for their email and web systems,’ said Andrew Conway, Director, Product Marketing, Enterprise Client, Microsoft.
Alf Pilgrim, Chief Technology Officer at Clearswift comments on the update: ‘This is a significant update for the Gateway solutions, particularly with the extension of our support for Microsoft’s File Classification Infrastructure. Businesses today are operating with both customers and partners in collaborative environments and it is essential that they are able to do this securely. At Clearswift we are continuously enhancing our best-in-class solutions to ensure we keep pace with the ever-changing security and governance landscape.’
The integration of Sophos anti-virus to the Gateway’s existing anti-malware features gives customers the choice between an alternative premium anti-virus technology and the ability to run multiple scanners concurrently to deliver maximum protection.
‘We are delighted that Clearswift has deepened its partnership with Sophos to help protect its customers against web and email threats. This integration fulfils the demands of Clearswift customers that want to deploy powerful malware detection without impacting user productivity,’ said Michael Rogers, Vice President, Global OEM and Strategic Alliances, Sophos.
A number of exclusive features have been added to each product, including additional URL filtering categories specific to the Web Gateway: remote access and cyber-bullying.
The Email Gateway is further enhanced with a new delayed release feature that enables employees to prevent accidentally-sent emails from leaving the organisation.
Policy-based message archiving helps customers to remain compliant, while improvements to the SECURE Email Gateway provide multiple mechanisms to support a customer’s email archiving infrastructure, whether they are using an on-premises or SaaS-based solution.
Coinciding with these product releases, Clearswift is also pleased to announce a brand new Premium Support service offering, where customers with on-premises solutions are proactively managed and any issue is alerted to one of the 24x7 support agents for resolution.
