Festival of Lights – it’s getting more colourful in Berlin

WEBWIRE

Berlin - A grey autumn? Not in Berlin! During the Festival of Lights international artists and designers will be transforming the German capital over twelve days with illuminated works of art, delighting Berliners and visitors to the city. From 10 to 21 October, more than 70 buildings, streets and squares – including the Television Tower, the Gendarmenmarkt and the Brandenburg Gate – will be colourfully illuminated daily from 7pm to midnight. All venues are open to the public and free of charge.

According to Burkhard Kieker, the CEO of visitBerlin, “The Festival of Lights gives Berlin a special sparkle and has become a major international public attraction. Both native Berliners and visitors from around Germany and abroad particularly enjoy the special atmosphere in the city. Light fascinates people from all over the world. The Festival continues to attract more and more tourists who want to experience the illuminated German capital. We’re expecting a lot more visitors – a brilliant start to the winter season.”
