Phoenix indie-folk outfit Late Reader has released a track from their upcoming debut EP, due out this fall.
The song, L. River is equal parts haunting and melodic, embracing the pairís preference for stripped-down bedroom style recording and analog white noise. Itís up for a free download on Late Readerís Bandcamp page.
The band was founded by Ben Norris, singer and guitarist for Phoenix punk veterans Said Gun. Norris added Rick Pellicciaro to the mix soon after to round out the sound with bass, vocals and some sparse rhythms.
While the duo has been playing out around Phoenix for more than a year, theyíve held off on releasing anything seriously up until now.
"We didnít want to get together for two months, releases 12 songs, and dump our stuff down everybodyís throat" Norris said. "Weíve been having a lot of fun playing these tiny little shows, seeing some great bands and not even thinking about recording"
The self-titled EP is due out this fall.
