“Shuttlebration” Patron’s Cell Phones get put to the ATP Test by Mat Fitzgerald

HOUSTON – Patho-Gen, LLC, will be set-up at Space Center Houston’s “Shuttlebration Weekend,” Sunday morning, June 3, testing patron’s cellular phones for adenosine triphosphate using the Hygiena SystemSURE Plus™ ATP Hygiene Monitoring System with the Ultrasnap swab testing devices. The higher the test reading, the “dirtier” the surface tested. A Patho-Gen service technician will be on-hand to explain the demonstration as a matter of public health and the importance of understanding our environment from this scientific and educational perspective. Patho-Gen recommends that you be prepared to be surprised.

According to the manufacturer, Hygiena, LLC, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is “[…] the universal energy molecule found in all animal, plant, bacteria, yeast and mold cells. Residues, particularly food or organic residue, contain large amounts of ATP. When left on a surface, residues can harbor and grow bacteria, cause cross-contamination, develop biofilm and many other problems […].”

“By testing surfaces in our environment, also know as ‘fomites,’ which are high-contact surfaces like cell phones, we can determine what an environment looks like numerically in terms of cleanliness,” said Mat Fitzgerald, the owner of Patho-Gen, LLC, a local small business and formal disinfecting company in the Greater Houston area, and a Consultant for a national disease prevention organization that markets PRONTECH™ and TopSani® in the United States.  PRONTECH™ and TopSani® are products of United Promotions, Inc., of Atlanta.

PRONTECH™ has a neutral pH; however, it can operate in a range of 3-11, and is 100% biodegradable in all sewage systems.

PRONTECH™ for misting fights against all known pathogenic microorganisms safely – and not with harsh chemicals – including bacteria, viruses, fungi and algae, mold and mildew, allergens, and odor. Without the exclusion of any known pathogen, pathogens cannot build up a resistance to PRONTECH™, which saves organizations time and money. Also TopSani® being a non-alcohol-based hand sanitizer will not dry out a user’s hands.
