Low Testosterone Linked to Increased Risk in Death

Studies link andropause, the natural decline in male hormones, to an increased risk of death. Hormone replacement therapy at American Longevity Center can treat men with low testosterone.

MIAMI, FL – American Longevity Center, an advanced anti-aging medical clinic in the Miami area, has confirmed that low testosterone levels in men is linked to an increased risk in death.

The latest study to establish this correlation was conducted at Puget Sound Health Care System and University of Washington at Seattle.  Researchers investigated the hormone levels of 858 US military veterans over the age of 40. The study took place over 8 years, with doctors monitoring the testosterone levels of the men in the group, and examining their accompanying health issues.

The study was published in the Archives of Internal Medicine and corroborates other studies and research that link low testosterone with increased risk of death.  The men with low testosterone levels in the Puget Sound Health Care System study showed an astounding 88% increased risk of death compared to men in the normal testosterone level group.

Low testosterone is fairly common in men although it does not get nearly the same amount of attention that is given to menopause and other female related conditions linked to a hormone imbalance.  By the time a man reaches his mid-twenties, testosterone levels can begin to decline by 1-2% each year.  In fact, the study conducted at the Puget Sound Health Care System also found that 19% of men routinely had low testosterone, and another 28% fluctuated between low and normal levels. When extrapolated to the whole US population, these numbers mean that tens of millions of men suffer from low testosterone.

The latest medical breakthroughs in anti-aging medicine, currently available at American Longevity Center, are available for men with low testosterone.  With customized hormone replacement therapy treatments for low testosterone, symptoms and associated health risks can be prevented and often reversed once treatment begins.

Men contemplating hormone replacement therapy must work closely with a qualified and experienced physician. A simple lab test is what most men need to determine whether or not they are in fact suffering from low testosterone levels.
