Hard-Cooked Egg Recall Expands

Wegmans Food Markets, Greencore USA, Allison’s Gourmet Kitchens, GH Foods SW, GH Foods CA, F&S Produce Co., Delhaize America, Kroger’s, and Bost Distributing Co. have all been forced to recall certain products as a result of the potential contamination of hard-cooked eggs from Minnesota-based Michael Foods.
 
According to Food Safety News, Wegmans is recalling certain hard-cooked eggs, as well as prepared foods that contain hard-cooked eggs. Greencore is recalling chefs salad and egg salad sandwiches. Allison’s Gourmet Kitchens is recalling certain prepared potato, macaroni, pea, and egg salads. GH Foods SW is recalling Cobb salads. GH Foods CA is recalling egg salad sandwiches, F&S Produce Company is recalling Cobb and spinach salads, Delhaize America is recalling potato salad; Kroger’s is recalling prepared salads and sandwiches; meanwhile, Bost Distributing Co. (doing business as Harold Food Co.) is withdrawing chicken salad.
 
The recall has expanded after the hard-cooked eggs from Michael Foods’s Wakefield, NE facility first tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes in late January.
 
So far, no illnesses have been associated with the recall.
