JERICHO, NY—(SmallCapNewsRelease)—January 11, 2012, LKA International, Inc. (OTCQB: LKAI) has announced today that they have signed a non-binding statement of intent to transfer ownership of the historic Ute-Ulay town and mill sites to Hinsdal County, Colorado.
The initial phase of the donation will involve a four acre parcel of land located within LKA International’s Ute-Ulay Mine complex on Henson Creek. The site includes the mine’s original boardinghouse, log cabins, various storage buildings, mine headframe, and original redwood water tank.
The intent of LKA International’s donation is to enable Hinsdale County to restore and preserve one of the only remaining mining camps left in Colorado. The agreement calls for the county to preserve and publicly display the mining camp.
