Acupuncture Specialty Training Now Offered by the Integrative Healing Society

WEBWIRE

For acupuncturists who are looking for advanced training the Integrative Healing Society (IHS) has several courses available which offer unique perspectives and experiences.  These include online courses as well as a China tour in April of 2012.

The tour in April will be the fifth annual trip to China organized by IHS, and it offers professionals and students the opportunity to study in specialty departments in Chinese medicine hospitals.  Participants may choose to study in several acupuncture departments including internal medicine, gynecology, and neurology.  There are also disciplines available for treating headaches and muscle-skeletal disorders.  In addition to acupuncture training, participants may also choose to study herbs in departments including gastroenterology, gynecology, internal medicine, and pediatrics.  Professionals who are certified by the NCCAOM are also eligible to receive 30 credits for attending.

The online courses offered by IHS include their keystone course entitled Meridian Circuit Systems, as well as shorter courses for the treatment of IBS and urinary conditions.  The foundational course is based on the book Meridian Circuit Systems: A Channel Based Approach to Pattern Identification.  In this course a precise method for syndrome differentiation and treatment design is discussed in terms of the meridian systems.  For example, the yang ming – jue yin pattern is often used when symptoms occur in the large intestine or stomach but are rooted in liver imbalances.  When liver disharmonies affect the head, neck, or nervous system it is common to find that the jue yin – shao yang pattern is present.

Since the release of the book and online course in January of 2011, the book has received global distribution, and the course is being taught to professionals all over the world.  For more information about the online courses or the educational tour to China visit: http://www.ihsociety.com
