The Weather Channel Presents Season Three of ’Storm Riders’

WEBWIRE

The Weather Channel® presents the third season of “Storm Riders,” premiering Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 9 p.m. ET. Maverick meteorologists Simon Brewer and Juston Drake continue their quest across the country to witness the most powerful storms.

Produced by Peacock Productions, “Storm Riders” is a raw, behind-the-scenes series following two meteorologists, who run a bare-bones operation - no high-tech equipment and no gadgets - just a cell phone connection and a map - in search for the next big tornado or hurricane.

In its third season, the thrill of storm chasing continues as Simon and Juston allow viewers to live vicariously through their harrowing experiences in hurricanes and tornadoes such as the one that devastated Tuscaloosa, Ala. and the aftermath of Joplin, Mo., as well as others that struck Iowa, Kansas, Texas, South Dakota, Illinois, and Nebraska.

Storm chasing is not a hobby but a way of life for Simon and Juston as they hit the road, driving an average of 2,400 miles a week, racing into the dangers of a storm, navigating difficult terrain and conditions for hours on end on very little sleep. Simon has been chasing storms for more than a decade. He’s witnessed hundreds of tornadoes, eight hurricanes, two tropical storms, dozens of winter storms and thousands of supercells. Simon has intercepted the eyes of three major hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina, one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history. Juston has been chasing storms for 7 years and still revels in taking on Mother Nature’s fury and predicting where the next storm will develop. Juston has also witnessed numerous tornadoes, supercells, and hurricanes.

“Storm Riders” will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on The Weather Channel. For more information, visit: www.weather.com/stormriders.
