* Award for the Side View Assist on the CitroŽn C4 and HYbrid4 technology on the Peugeot 3008
Poissy/France Ė The PSA Peugeot CitroŽn Groupís seventh Suppliersí Awards ceremony was held on 29th March 2011. During the event the PSA Peugeot CitroŽn Groupís Purchasing Department selected the Bosch Group as the winner in the Innovation category. The award went to the Side View Assist system for the new CitroŽn C4 and the HYbrid4 technology developed for the Peugeot 3008.
On receiving the ďPSA Suppliersí Awards, Innovation categoryĒ trophy, Bernd Bohr Ė Member of the Bosch Board of Management and chairman of the Automotive Technology business sector Ė first of all thanked PSA Peugeot CitroŽn for their trust and also underlined the fact that this award was the result of a long-standing partnership between PSA Peugeot CitroŽn and Bosch. Bernd Bohr concluded by recalling that ďan innovative idea is not in itself sufficient and has to be supported by a customer brave enough and with enough foresight to ensure that the appropriate solution is brought to market. PSA Peugeot CitroŽn is a prime example of such a customer. So once again, I must thank you for your trust.Ē
Focus on two innovative technologies
The Bosch Side View Assist
Using ultrasonic sensors, the Bosch blind-spot monitoring system ďSide View AssistĒ can register objects three meters to the side and diagonally to the rear of the vehicle. Its role is to assist drivers in dangerous situations, especially when changing lanes. In the event of a real danger, the driver is first of all warned by a visual alarm and then by an acoustic alarm.
Bosch hybrid technology:
The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 will shortly be launched as the worldís first full hybrid diesel vehicle. Bosch collaborated on developing the car and preparing it for series production, and will supply key electronic components such as electric motors and power electronics intended for the diesel four-wheel drive powertrain developed by PSA Peugeot CitroŽn.
