On average 90 percent car parc coverage includes diesel, air conditioning, brakes, steering and suspension, and vehicle electronics products, as well as diesel test equipment and diagnostic tools.

MADRID, Spain - Delphi announced today at its Motortec exhibition press conference (Hall 8, Stand A02) in Madrid, its commitment to the Spanish market with an expanded product portfolio to help aftermarket garages and distributors profitably grow their business. Providing the benefit of more than 100 years of OE heritage and serving the top 25 global vehicle manufacturers, Delphi has strategically developed its product offering to cover on average 90 percent car parc to help Spain’s aftermarket channel successfully service the vehicles on the road today with OE quality parts and services.

“We are making sure our customers in Spain are aware, and have easy access to, our full range of products,” said Gaël Escribe, vice president, independent aftermarket, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. “Because of our relationships with vehicle manufacturers and the high level of technical excellence they demand, this enables us to offer products developed and manufactured to OE standards. Our Spanish customers are not only receiving the coverage they need, but the quality. This is especially important when technicians are servicing a variety of vehicles and repairs. Our products fit right the first time and deliver the performance customers expect.”

Included in this product expansion are Delphi’s diesel common rail systems to address the 70 percent diesel market share for new car registrations in Spain last year alone. Additional diesel products recently launched include 36 new diesel filters, the diesel fuel analyser, and heavy-duty E3 electronic unit injectors to address the opportunities in out of warranty parc in excess of 1.5 million injectors.

In April, Delphi will launch 75 new air conditioning part numbers increasing the thermal car parc coverage to 95 percent. In 2010, Delphi launched 380 new steering and suspension parts for 90 percent coverage and will launch over 300 more in 2011, as well as 13 mass airflow (MAF) sensors, 2 exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves, 40 oxygen sensors and 5 fuel pumps in its vehicle electronics program. Delphi continues to offer almost 100 percent car parc coverage for brake pads and discs.

Listed below is each product line in detail for additional information. All Delphi parts can be found on www.delphi.com/am, its parts catalogues and also on TECDOC, where Delphi is an A CLASS data supplier.

Diesel Common Rail

“As Delphi continues to secure new OE common rail contracts in the diesel market, we will be prepared to address these vehicles once they come out of warranty and into the aftermarket by transitioning our OE expertise to our aftermarket products,” said Mike Rayne, vice president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, Diesel.

Most recently, Delphi announced it is supplying its Multec Diesel Common Rail system to the DW10C engine. A shared platform across Citroën, Fiat, Ford and Peugeot, it is fitted to some of the most popular diesel vehicles and Delphi offers a range of replacement units, including a DFP3.4 high pressure pump, DFI1.5 injectors and an electronic control unit (ECU) to support the rapidly growing parc in the aftermarket on these vehicles.

It is also launching a comprehensive new service program, giving its authorised Diesel Centre network the ability to diagnose, service and repair this technology quickly, accurately and cost effectively. Comprising a range OE repair parts, manuals, technical information, test equipment accessories and tooling, the all encompassing program covers Delphi DFP3 pumps fitted as OE to the DW10C engine, as well as Mercedes Benz OM651, Hyundai 3.1 litre and the Renault K9K 3.4 litre engine fitted to Renault, Dacia and Samsung applications.

Diesel Filters

Delphi is adding 36 new diesel filters in 2011 to cover 96 percent of European parc for popular Audi, Fiat, Honda, Opel, Renault, Seat and Volkswagen applications equipped with diesel common rail systems.

Delphi’s diesel filters feature the latest technology, including a patented diverter valve and air management system for improved engine performance, as well as high efficiency multi-layer media, offering enhanced particle removal, water separation and filter longevity for maximum engine protection.

Diesel Fuel Analysers

In response to an increase in fuel-related issues, Delphi recently launched in 2010 a real time fuel analyser to help garages and fleets identify fuel impurities when diagnosing faults, or prior to filling a vehicle’s fuel tank, reducing the risk of damage to the fuel injection system. The new solution uses unique sensing techniques, eliminating the need for ongoing cartridge replacement and ensuring a competitively superior product.

Air Conditioning

Available in April, Delphi will launch 75 new part numbers for vehicle air conditioning systems, including 17 additions to the compressor range and 17 additions to the cabin filter range. These new introductions also include 22 OE heat exchangers (condensers, radiators and charge air coolers), providing a wider range of the most common crash repair parts.

This range extension also includes new Delphi OE Compact Variable Compressors (CVC) which represent the next generation of air conditioning technology to provide improved fuel economy, reduced emissions and excellent refinement. Delphi CVC’s are currently found on the new Alfa Giulietta, Nissan Qashqai and Opel Insignia.

Delphi air conditioning product offering is one of the most comprehensive in Europe, with 94 percent car parc coverage for compressors, condensers and receiver driers, and 97 percent car parc coverage for cabin air filters.

Vehicle Electronics

With the introduction of 13 MAF sensors, 2 EGR valves, 40 oxygen sensors and 5 fuel pumps, Delphi continues to offer a comprehensive service solution for engine and fuel management systems including ignition, emission and fuel components.

Delphi recently launched its new MAF sensor probe as a greener, 20 percent more cost-effective alternative to the traditional MAF assembly repair. In most cases it’s unnecessary to replace the complete part since it’s the electronics on the sensor probe that fails 98 percent of the time. Delphi’s MAF sensor probe combines 20 competitor SKUs into one for reduced inventory euro investment and wider coverage.

The new EGR valves cover 2.5 million vehicles on popular applications such as Peugeot, Citroën, Ford, Volvo and Fiat.

Delphi’s oxygen sensors deliver the industry’s fastest light-off time to reduce cold-start emissions and improve fuel economy. The extended range supports an additional 18 million applications, including popular models for Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, Seat, Toyota and Volkswagen.

The recently launched Delphi fuel pumps cover 1.3 million applications, and deliver fast-pressure rise for quick engine starts and a two-strainer system for long-lasting durability.

Braking

Offering 98.5 percent European car parc coverage for brake pads and discs, Delphi continues to lead the market with its complete range of braking systems with discs developed to tight tolerances and precision, and pads made from more than 20 different friction materials for superior performance.

“Our aim is to supply brake discs and pads within six months of a new vehicle launch,” said Escribe. “Our speed to market means garages can generate additional revenue by accessing the repair business on newer vehicles, rather than having to wait.”

ABS Sensors

Delphi has also extended its braking portfolio with the recent introduction of an ABS speed sensor range covering 42 million vehicles.

“Through research, we found growing market demand market for sensors meeting the same strict quality standards as those fitted for the OE,” said Escribe. “In response, we have released 65 sensors to cover popular European vehicles such as the BMW X5, Ford Ka, Peugeot 307, and Volkswagen Golf and Passat. More sensors will be introduced throughout 2011.”

Steering and Suspension

Delphi has substantially increased its steering and suspension range with the addition of 380 new part numbers to its chassis portfolio. Available now, these new parts increase Delphi’s vehicle parc coverage to more than 90 percent. In addition, Delphi plans to introduce more than 300 new steering and suspension parts in 2011 through monthly introductions demonstrating its clear commitment to the market.
