Due to strong ticket demand, Classic Stage Company’s forthcoming production Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters has been extended for two weeks, through March 6. The play begins previews on January 12 and will open on February 3, directed by Austin Pendleton. No further extension will be possible.

Three Sisters features previously announced stars Maggie Gyllenhaal (Masha), Josh Hamilton (Andre), Jessica Hecht (Olga), Marin Ireland (Natasha), Juliet Rylance (Irina) and Peter Sarsgaard (Vershinin). Also featured in the cast are Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Tuesenbach), Anson Mount (Solyony), Roberta Maxwell (Anfisa), Louis Zorich (Chebutykin), George Morfogen (Ferapont), Paul Lazar (Kulygin), Gabe Bettio (Rode) and James Patrick Nelson (Fedotik).

CSC’s production follows the company’s revivals of Chekhov’s The Seagull (2008) and Pendleton’s acclaimed Uncle Vanya (2009), which featured Sarsgaard, Gyllenhaal and several other actors who will appear in Three Sisters. The revival will use a translation by Paul Schmidt.

The creative team for Three Sisters will include set design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Marco Piemontese, lighting design by Keith Parham, sound design and original music by Christian Frederickson and Ryan Rumery and hair design by Paul Huntley.
