An IAQ Legend Passes the Torch at the IAQA Los Angeles Chapter

Franco Seif’s last workshop as the Los Angeles IAQA Chapter Director took place last week on December 10th. Mr. Seif of Clark Seif Clark, Inc. (CSC) founded the L.A. Chapter on behalf of the American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQC) in 2001.

Mr. Seif and the L.A. Chapter weathered the 2005 “Unification” process whereby the AmIAQC, the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and the International Environmental Standards Organization (IESO) divvied up their competing responsibilities, so that each organization would focus on one aspect of the indoor environmental quality industry. AmIAQC became the industry’s certifying body, IESO was given the task of creating industry guidelines and standards, and the IAQA was charged with membership and member services. One of the IAQA member services included management of the various nationwide local chapters.

“The IAQA and I wish to thank Franco Seif for his dedication and selfless service towards the betterment of the industry and to this organization,” reported IAQA Vice President, Derrick A. Denis. “The success of the L.A. Chapter is in large part due to Franco’s leadership and commitment. Mr. Seif has helped the IAQA achieve its mission of promoting the exchange of indoor environmental information, through education and research, for the safety and well-being of the general public. His contributions are appreciated and will be missed,” continued Mr. Denis.

“It was my pleasure to serve the IAQ community in Los Angeles. I had the opportunity to meet many people and made many friends along the way,” commented Franco Seif. “I’m looking forward to attending new chapter workshops as a participant for the first time next year.”

The Chapter Director torch is being passed next month to Steve Roquermore of Affordable Inspection Services, Inc. Mr. Roquermore presently serves on the L.A. Chapter IAQA Advisory Board.
