ACAC Offers Structural Drying Certifications
The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) has announced two new professional certification programs in Restorative and Structural Drying: the Council-certified Structural Drying Remediator (CSDR) and the Council-certified Structural Drying Supervisor (CSDS). Individuals with field experience in water damage restoration are encouraged to apply for certification by visiting the ACAC website at http://www.acac.org. The CSDR/CSDS examination is now available at secure proctoring centers throughout the US, Canada and overseas.
“The water damage restoration industry has long needed a certification program that operates independently of training and membership organizations,” said Charlie Wiles, ACAC executive director. “Because ACAC has no members and operates no training programs, the CSDR and CSDS designations fill this need. We believe these certifications raise the bar for professionalism in the restoration industry.”
There are no training or membership requirements for the CSDR and CSDS programs; instead, candidates must demonstrate verifiable education and field experience and pass an independent, psychometrically-rated examination based on respected industry texts.
Like other ACAC certifications, the CSDR and CSDS programs are compliant with national accreditation guidelines published by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB) – another distinction that makes them unique in the restoration industry.
“Third party accreditation is the mark of a quality certification,” said Wiles. “We are proud to be the first organization to offer such certifications to experienced structural drying professionals.”
The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) is an independent, non-profit certifying body serving environmental professionals throughout North America and overseas. For more information on ACAC programs, please visit the ACAC website or call 888-808-8381.
