Denver Medical Marijuana Dispensary, Scam... or Hoax?
Today Denver Medical Marijuana Dispensaries took another hit concerning their credibility. The legalization of Medical Marijuana in Denver has been met with skepticism by Law Enforcement and some of the general population in Denver since it’s inception in February of 2007.
In an online interview Thuy Lam the owner of Kind Meds Denver Medical Marijuana Dispensary (http://www.denvermedicalmarijuanadispensary.org) stated: “It’s unfortunate that a legitimate business such as Kind Meds Denver Medical Marijuana Dispensary has to suffer from the bad press generated by this scheme. We are a legal and ethical business promoting a great product for our patients.”
The scheme involved targeting Denver high school students to invest in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. Although the details are very thin at this point one has to wonder why any scheme would target High School students.
A police investigation including students from Cherry Creek and Regis High School is underway according to an email that was sent to parents. The Police have admitted that they do not know who was behind the scheme. There has also been no known report of any victims in this scheme.
One has to wonder if this story of High school students asking other High school students to invest in a Medical Marijuana Dispensary would even be news or referred to as a Scheme or Scam if was not associated with a legal but yet controversial business.
Tustin Amole, spokeswoman for Cherry Creek School District was quoted as saying “We do want kids to learn about business, but this is not exactly the business we have in mind.”
