Earlier this month the Las Vegas Sun reported on the Veteran Affairs’ battle to prevent the spread of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureas (MRSA) at O’Callaghan Federal Hospital and 152 other VA locations nationwide. In Canada, the Vancouver Island Health Authority just declared an outbreak of Clostridium difficile (C. diff) in a hospital to be over after 49 patients became ill and two patients died.
