Salt Lake Firm Suggests Steam To Mitigate Cancer Threats As Seen In Presidents Cancer Panel

Steam cleaning can reduce risks of chemical contamination

A proliferation of chemicals in water, food, air and household products is the likely cause for an increase in cancers in children, according to a newly released report from the President’s Cancer Panel.  Fortunately, a Salt Lake firm offers a simple solution to help eliminate exposure to some of the contaminants.

Joyce Mathie, founder of Sargent Steam said cleaning with hot steam can be effective as dispersing and eliminating some of the chemical and environmental factors specified in the report. In addition, steam cleaning offers the option of avoiding exposure to many of the potentially dangerous chemicals found in common household cleaning products.

The 240-page report noted that “children are far more susceptible to damage from environmental carcinogens and endocrine-reducing compounds than adults.”

An action as simple as removing shoes before entering the home to avoid tracking in toxic chemicals such as pesticides was specified as a means to reduce exposure to cancer causing elements. Mathie noted that the hot steam generated by Sargent Steam cleaning products can help eliminate toxins that might already be present in a home.

More information about cleaning and disinfecting with steam can help reduce exposure to dangerous chemicals and toxins is available at or by calling 801-326-8322.
