Mold Causes Lung Infections in Washington Twins

An article last week in the Peninsula Daily News described two seven month old twins who have been battling respiratory problems that “doctors say was contracted through exposure to black mold in a Port Townsend rental home.” The children have been at an area children’s hospital since last December.

Mold in indoor environments can cause a host of medical conditions. These range from allergies to infections. Fungal infections are typically caused by inhaling airborne fungal spores that make their way to a person’s respiratory tract. Also keep carpets clean and regularly replace air filters.”
