Trintech and Dresser Wayne introduce a range of forecourt payment solutions incorporating Dresser Wayne’s pay-at-pump expertise and Trintech’s certified payment security technology.

IFFE 2006 at NEC Birmingham, UK - 20 March, 2006 - Trintech Group Plc (NASDAQ: TTPA), a leading provider of transaction reconciliation and payment infrastructure solutions, today announced a partnership with Dresser Wayne, a global leader in forecourt automation and petroleum systems, to supply the fuel retail market with a range of forecourt payment technology products that support the latest EMV smart card and PCI terminal security standards. Dresser Wayne partnered with Trintech to integrate Trintech’s OpenPay EMV and PCI security into the new Dresser Wayne PT 4000 EMV pay-at-pump terminal. This solution was recently granted Visa’s PCI Certification for its encrypting PIN Pad (EPP) technology – the first EPP class device to win Visa’s approval. Trintech will also license its PayWare software to Dresser Wayne to streamline the rollout and management of pay-at-pump systems by fuel retailers globally.
The PT4000 EMV is being launched at this week’s International Fuel and Forecourt Equipment Show (IFFE) 2006 in Birmingham March 19 – 22. It incorporates the recently launched Trintech OpenPay UPT 4000 to securely handle payments from chip, magnetic stripe and contactless cards via an optional integrated RFID wireless reader, which supports payment schemes such as Visa Wave and MasterCard PayPass. Dresser Wayne is marketing the PT 4000 EMV terminal to fuel retailers and system integrators globally with particular focus on regions in Europe, Latin American and Asia that are migrating to EMV chip and PIN and PCI.

In countries where pay-at-pump usage is already high such as the Nordic region, Benelux, Italy and Canada, the deployed terminal base needs to be upgraded to accept new EMV chip and PIN cards. For countries with lower pay-at-pump usage such as the UK and Germany, the roll-out of EMV presents an opportunity to introduce pay-at-pump services without increasing the risk of losses due to fraud or drive offs.

“Dresser Wayne has pioneered the concept of self service fuelling and payment at the pump and has deployed over 170,000 pay-at-pump terminals worldwide,“ said Stefan Kristensson, Product Manager, Payment for Dresser Wayne Pignone. “EMV and PCI compliance is becoming a mandatory requirement for fuel retailers in most territories and is driving new and replacement business. We chose to integrate Trintech’s PayWare technology into our product offering because our customers need security and Trintech has shown itself to be an expert in this field.”

The Dresser Wayne PT 4000 EMV has an open software API allowing fuel retailers to link the terminal with their existing forecourt architecture. The terminal also has a compact design, allowing it to fit inside all major pump enclosures on the market. Dresser Wayne is packaging the PT 4000 EMV as a retrofit solution for existing pump heads and as an integrated module in new Dresser Wayne pumps.

Under the partnership agreement, Dresser Wayne will also license Trintech’s PayWare EMS software allowing fuel retailers to remotely manage their entire pay-at-pump terminal estate from a central location. PayWare EMS manages the secure downloading of software to each terminal across the store network allowing the terminals to be updated remotely with new loyalty card programs, contactless payment applications or terminal security keys.

“Trintech is focused on developing secure unattended payment solutions and we are delighted to announce our partnership with Dresser Wayne to provide the fuel retail market with new and exciting products.” said Eamon Keating, General Manager of Trintech’s Payments Division, “The latest EMV and PCI security standards present fuel retailers with an opportunity to attract more motorists to pay-at-pump while lowering the threat of fraud from lost or stolen cards. Partnering with Dresser Wayne reaffirms our strategy to bring secure payment to the fuel retail market and we look forward to many successful projects together in the future.”
