Amplitude Systèmes to unveil new ultrafast fiber laser products and features at BiOS/Photonics West 2010

WEBWIRE

January 26, 2010, San Francisco, CA and Pessac, France – Amplitude Systèmes, a rapidly growing manufacturer of diode-pumped ultrafast solid-state lasers, is pleased to announce new additions to its product offer as well as new features in several of its existing products. During the annual SPIE Photonics West Exhibition in San Francisco this month, the company will be displaying its line of lasers for industrial and scientific applications. In addition, several of the company’s customers will present their recent work in the fields of refractive surgery, cellular imaging, photochemistry and laser micromachining.

The all-new s-Pulse™ series of compact lasers relies on simple control electronics and long-life, high-reliability laser diodes to minimize power consumption and operating costs. Available in 4 different models, the flexibility of this line’s parameters makes them ideal for applications where short pulse duration, high repetition rates and optimal beam quality are necessary to achieve results. The equally new Mikan™ is the only ultrafast air-cooled oscillator available with fiber delivery for life sciences imaging. Its small footprint, 10x less than the smaller Ti:Sapphire laser, allows it to fit into almost any environment.

Tangerine™ is now the highest average power fiber laser available today, providing users with more than 50µJ of pulse energy in the pico and femtosecond regimes. Satsuma™, a compact high-energy ultrafast fiber laser, now provides customers with ultrashort pulses better than 250 fs, repetition rates from 1-5 MHz, and high energy (up to 10 µJ). Tangerine’s increase in pulse energy and Satsuma’s even faster repetition rates makes both products even more appealing for demanding research and industrial applications including micromachining, internal marking and analytical chemistry.

“We’re very proud that our assertive R&D and quality practices have enabled us to build a loyal customer base and to grow rapidly over the past years” notes Amplitude Systèmes President & CEO, Eric Mottay. He continues by adding “The new products we’re displaying here at Photonics West, as well as those with enhanced features, are the result of extensive research into market demands. In the future, we will continue to identify new needs and develop innovative products to reinforce our position as a provider of the highest quality ultrafast fiber lasers available.”
