Trimac Transportation U.S. Upgrades Entire Fleet to Qualcomm’s Mobile Computing Platform 100

Leading North American Tank Truck Carrier Cites Commitment to Safety as Driving Factor in Upgrade Decision

SAN DIEGO and HOUSTON - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, and Trimac Transportation U.S. today announced that Trimac will upgrade its fleet to Qualcomm’s Mobile Computing Platform 100 terrestrial series (MCP100T). Trimac cited its commitment to safety and evolving communication needs within the transportation industry as key drivers of its decision to upgrade to MCP100T.

Trimac’s upgrade from Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS system to MCP100T will provide significant benefits to its operations. Onboard computing and related services such as Hours of Service, Critical Event Reporting and Performance Monitoring, which can help enhance vehicle safety, were primary factors in Trimac’s selection of the MCP100T. The MCP100T’s text-to-speech capability and in-motion user interface represent additional safety features attractive to Trimac.
