She was selected from more than 50 nominees for the awards.
 
Bennett was on-hand to accept the honor, which was announced Aug. 15 at the Women in the Pet Industry Conference and Awards Show in Portland, Ore. This annual conference and Pet Industry Woman of the Year competition are put on by Women in the Pet Industry Network (WIPIN), the industry-leading organization focused on women entrepreneurs who want to grow their pet businesses. WIPIN this year recognized four women in addition to Bennett.
