BooksOnBoard Discounts Textbooks In Support of Governor Schwarzenegger’s Digital Textbooks Initiative

On June 9th, Governor Schwarzenegger of California announced the Digital Textbooks Initiative. High school math and science classes will begin the switch to digital textbooks, paving the way for digitized content throughout the school system.

The Governor cited cost, convenience, diminished environmental impact, and interactive learning as some of the main advantages of eBooks.

“Number one, you don’t have to carry around this heavy load in your bag, in your school bag, which my kids always complain about,” said the Governor. “You know, these 50 lbs. of school bags that they’re schlepping around. And then, number two, I think it will help because you don’t have to cut down as many trees. Think about that, how much paper is being used in those textbooks. And it makes education and learning much more fun, because it’s interactive and it helps the bottom line in our schools and helps them with their finances.”

course, all of that; they can be frequently updated to better prepare our students. And there will also be more opportunities for interactive learning and you know how exciting interactive action is.”
