Discovery Studios Adds Chad Cohen to Anchor Newly-Formed Science Production Unit
Silver Spring, Md. - Discovery Studios, the internal production arm of Discovery Communications, today announced the addition of Emmy Award-winning producer, writer and director, Chad Cohen. Cohen comes to Discovery Studios from National Geographic where he spearheaded multiple major productions including The Dinosaur Mummy, Incredible Human Machine and Earth Report: State of the Planet.
In his position as Executive Producer, Cohen becomes the first member of a dedicated internal Science Unit designed to bolster Discovery Studios’ science capabilities for partnerships with network clients including Science Channel and Discovery Channel.
Science is a core genre for Discovery Communications and this new Science Unit is a key step toward Discovery Studios expanding its presence within the scientific community,” said Carole Tomko, President of Discovery Studios. “Chad’s novel thinking, topical expertise and proven track record of programming success make him the ideal first member of this new team.”
Cohen joins Discovery Studios after spending the past eight years at National Geographic.
