Research manager for TNS Worldpanel Elaine Giles said: "It’s clear from the trends that we’re seeing that online retailers are increasing really rapidly in popularity.

Fashion retailers have been one of the worst hit by the recession as consumers prefer to stick to the well known high street names for clothing. However, the surge in internet shopping means online fashion retailers have the opportunity to become more popular than established high street names.
