Ma.gnolia.com Enlists Happy Cog to Design Social Bookmarking for the Rest of Us
SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. FEBRUARY 02, 2005 – Gnolia Systems, LLC, a San Francisco-based technology company, has partnered with Happy Cog Studios of New York City to develop a social bookmarking system accessible to a general audience of web users.
Ma.gnolia, launching on February 15th to great anticipation, was honored to join with Happy Cog because of the leading design firm’s commitment to high-quality user experience creation and the use of web standards. At its inception, the driving force of Ma.gnolia was to create a social bookmarking product that was usable, appealing and enjoyable for a diverse group of web users. The partnership with Happy Cog was a most logical and most fortunate means to achieve that challenging goal.
Said Todd Sieling, Ma.gnolia’s Product Manager, “From the beginning, we felt that social bookmarking hadn’t been embraced on a large market scale because the designs of most social bookmarking websites were inaccessible to the general public. In short, they weren’t speaking the same language as the average web user. We’re incredibly fortunate that Happy Cog shared our belief that an inviting, accessible, and all-around professionally crafted design for the user interface will make a relatively new technology something that a mass audience can embrace. So far, our beta feedback has proven this theory to be true.”
Jeffrey Zeldman of Happy Cog, stated, “We agreed with Ma.gnolia that cryptic, uninviting interfaces had held back social bookmarking and were thrilled to help them create a more welcoming, richer, and more polished user experience that provides more depth with less complexity.”
Ma.gnolia is currently being beta-tested by a smart and supportive community of enthusiasts and novices alike, with a launch date of February 15th. Readers interested in being among the first to hear Ma.gnolia’slaunch and to experience Happy Cog’s design work, please visit Ma.gnolia.com.
