AUSTIN, TX -- Prof. William Vandry, founder of William Vandry Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy, has announced recent expansion of his company’s headquarters in Austin, Texas. The renovations, which took place last year, will allow further growth for Vandry’s Jiu-jitsu school and increase enrollment capacity for students.

“We’re excited about the recent expansion of the academy,” says Professor William Vandry, director of Vandry Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

“The added room has opened up more options for us,” Vandry adds.

Founded in 1996 and expanded in 2008, William Vandry Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy offers a training environment for beginning, intermediate and advanced students of all ages. The school specializes in Jiu-jitsu, Thai boxing and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

For MMA students, students learn how to compete in the areas of breakdown striking, takedowns and grappling.

William Vandry is a second degree black belt in BJJ, and was trained under the legendary Carlos Machado and his brothers from Brazil. Vandry has competed in four different Pan American world championships, where he earned a fourth place finish, two silver medals and one gold medal.

Vandry explains that his academy is much more than a martial arts academy, but a place where students can develop character, discipline and a sense of self-worth.

“We take a very hands-on approach to our teaching,” notes William Vandry. “Our students don’t feel like they’re just a number here and although this is a very individualized sport, we create a sense of teamwork and camaraderie within our school.”

Due to recent expansion, enrollment space is available for kids and adults in the Austin, Texas area.
