Leading New York Wine Institution Joins All-Star Food and Beverage Roster at Mets New Home, Opening April 13

Flushing, N.Y. – The New York Mets and ARAMARK – a world-class leader in professional services and the Mets’ food and beverage provider – today announced a partnership with Zachys Wine & Liquor Inc. to design a world-class wine program for Citi Field, the Mets’ new home opening April 13.

As one of New York’s oldest and best-known wine merchants, Zachys will provide the Mets and ARAMARK with overall direction in selecting fine wine from around the world to complement the first-class culinary experience offered in Citi Field‘s premium dining areas, including suites, lounges, restaurants, and other locations in the more than 60,000 square feet of available event space.

“Zachys is a renowned New York institution, and its presence at Citi Field advances our efforts to provide fans an unmatched hospitality experience in our new home,” said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, New York Mets. “By complementing Citi Field’s extensive menu with world-class wine selections, we will be able to offer new culinary possibilities for fans on gameday, as well as those planning and attending non-gameday events.”

“Our partnership with Zachys reinforces the Mets and ARAMARK’s commitment to creating a world-class hospitality environment at Citi Field and setting a new industry standard for the guest dining experience in sports and entertainment venues,” said Clint Westbrook, Regional Vice President, ARAMARK Stadiums and Arenas.

“Our wine buying experts and knowledgeable customer service team at Zachys are committed to bringing Citi Field guests an extraordinary range of wines, from highly allocated ‘hard to find’ bottles to the newest, hottest selections from up and coming wine regions around the world,” said Don Zacharia, Chairman, Zachys Wine & Liquor Inc. “We look forward to working with the Mets and ARAMARK to offer fans, event bookers, and other guests of Citi Field a wine program to easily accommodate the season, specific occasion, and individual needs of the client, to bring the best in wine to a first-class entertainment venue.”

Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of guest experience initiatives by the Mets and ARAMARK. In September, they launched a joint business venture to create a year-round hospitality destination for non-gameday events at Citi Field, designed to host corporate meetings, receptions, private parties, trade shows, weddings, and a variety of other events. This past July, the Mets and ARAMARK announced an unprecedented partnership with Danny Meyer’s Hudson Yards to transport its culinary excellence and enlightened hospitality to Citi Field, including outposts of the enormously popular Blue Smoke and Shake Shack, as well as two new concepts: El Verano Taquería and Box Frites, a Belgian-style frites stand. Hudson Yards played a significant role in the design and conceptualization of Citi Field’s Delta Sky360 Club, and will manage the dining offerings for this premium club area adjacent to the 1,600 seats located closest to home plate on the Field Level. Hospitality and culinary strategist John Sergi and his Charlotte, N.C.-based firm helped the Mets and ARAMARK develop their partnerships with both Hudson Yards and Zachys.
