Popularity of TV Service Reflects Consumer Desire for an Alternative to Cable

St. Louis, Missouri.-Marking the one year anniversary of AT&T U-verseSM in St. Louis, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that AT&T U-verse TV is now available to more than 355,000 living units in the area. In the year since service has been available, AT&T U-verse TV has expanded significantly and redefined the television experience for St. Louisans, using a 100 percent digital platform that enables new, innovative features and takes TV competition to a whole new level.

Since introducing U-verse TV, AT&T has made the service available to more St. Louis customers on an ongoing basis. U-verse TV is offered today in parts of several communities, including Arnold, Florissant, Manchester, Maplewood, St. Peters and Wellston. There are plans to continue reaching even more customers.

“Now even more consumers can cut their ties with cable to see what the U-verse TV experience is all about,” said Kris Ryan, AT&T general manager for St. Louis. “U-verse TV offers a huge HD lineup, popular programming, greater control and features, and an unmatched Total Home DVR experience that allows you to watch your recorded programs on any connected TV in your home. This new video choice is exceeding all expectations in St. Louis.”

AT&T U-verse has been well-received by St. Louis-area residents and consumers across the country. AT&T U-verse TV ranked “Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the South Region,” according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudySM.

AT&T U-verse services were deployed as a result of legislation passed in March 2007 by the Missouri General Assembly and signed by Gov. Matt Blunt. The rapid expansion of AT&T U-verse in the St. Louis area mirrors the growth of U-verse services nationwide. AT&T recently announced that it is on track to reach one million customers by the end of 2008.

AT&T is the only national provider to offer a 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service, making AT&T U-verse TV one of the most advanced television offerings available anywhere. U-verse TV offers capabilities that customers don’t get from other local providers, such as Total Home DVR, unmatched interactive features and access to more than 75 High Definition (HD) channels.

The interactive features — available to customers at no extra charge — that were added since the launch in St. Louis and further differentiate U-verse TV from cable include:

* AT&T U-verse Total Home DVR, which gives you the freedom to watch recorded Standard Definition (SD) and HD programs from a single DVR on any connected TV in the home.
* AT&T Online Photos from Flickr, which lets you simply and conveniently browse the photos you’ve uploaded to flickr.com and watch slide shows on your U-verse TV screen from the comfort of your couch.
* Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football, which allows you to track the progress of your fantasy team — including current team matchups and league standings — directly from your TV screen through the AT&T U-bar.

AT&T’s U-verse deployment is rapidly introducing competitive choice and next-generation services to more consumers. AT&T U-verse customers enjoy triple-play integration, enhanced features and greater value, all made possible by IP technology.
