Irish-language broadcaster to install industry’s most efficient air time sales system

LONDON, January 23, 2006 — Harris Corporation’s (NYSE: HRS) Broadcast Communications Division (BCD) today announced that TG4, the Irish-language state broadcaster based in Galway, Ireland, will buy Harris’ Landmark™ II Air Time Sales (ATS) system.

The Landmark II system, a highly advanced and established solution for the management and execution of complex air time campaigns, will provide TG4 with an ATS system that will enable it to take advantage of oversold airtime capacity. The system will deliver precise, efficient, campaign delivery against ratings data, substantially increasing revenue and offering TG4 clients a much improved mechanism to reach their desired target audience. Implementation at TG4 is already underway with “go-live” planned for early 2006.

TG4 Commercial Director Pádraig Ó Dómhnaill said, “We chose Harris on the strength of the Landmark ll success in the Irish market at RTÉ and Irish commercial broadcaster TV3, and because it incorporates the robust functionality and flexibility we need to meet our longer-term goals.”

TG4 is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious and cost-effective broadcasters in Europe. It provides 16 hour-a-day service, seven of which are Irish-language only, received terrestrially in the Irish Republic, by satellite Sky Digital customers throughout Ireland, on cable and MMDS (multi-point microwave distribution system) in the Republic, or worldwide via web cast. TG4 also transmits on analogue terrestrial for the Belfast area.

The Harris Landmark II system contract includes software licensing, support, facilities management, plus development and implementation. TG4 sells its airtime through Post TV, an advertising sales house owned by the Sunday Business Post in Dublin. Landmark II will be installed in Dublin and include the ability to be remotely accessed by users and management in Galway.

The Landmark II system provides multi-channel operators, networks and regional sales houses with the ability to maximise the efficiency of all advertising revenue-generating opportunities, including spot, sponsorship and interactive. It was developed in conjunction with some of the world’s largest air time sales organisations and currently processes transactions worth hundreds of millions.

Harris Vice President of Software Sales EMEA John Phipps said, “TG4’s selection of Landmark is further evidence of the success we have had in Ireland and around the world with this innovative air time campaign solution.”
