SnoopStation Launches Free Online Background Check Service

The web’s most comprehensive public records resource (SnoopStation.com) has just launched a unique service in the personal investigation industry - namely, a free background check service.

“I thought it was about time that someone built an actual, functional public records search program that didn’t cost anything”, says Ian Armstrong, founder of SnoopStation.com

The service acts as an online wizard, which guides the user across hundreds of official records sources based on the type of information they request.

“A typical investigation with SnoopStation’s free background check wizard will take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes”, says Armstrong, “depending on the availability of records and the nature of their search”.

For example, someone searching for sex offenders in their area will have a much easier time finding information than someone who has to search through multiple state or county court records sources if they’re trying to figure out if someone’s been charged with a crime.

This is because some records are centralized and can be searched easily, while others are organized on a state, county and municipal level.

“I think this is a step in the right direction for the public records industry in general”, says Armstrong. “I mean, the whole business model for every other commercial site in the market is literally charging access to an organized directory of government sites. We wanted to be the one site that would just show people how to search public records, without taking their money for the privelege.”

Armstrong plans to continually improve and update the service as the site continues to grow in popularity.
