NATEL® data easy - the new prepaid offering for mobile surfing

On 24 November 2008 Swisscom will launch a new prepaid offering, NATEL® data easy, which will allow customers to surf the Internet while on the move for up to CHF 7.50 a day and with no fixed monthly fee. NATEL® data easy is an addition to the Mobile Unlimited family and is targeted at first-time and occasional surfers who do not wish to be tied into a contract.

The market for mobile data services continues to enjoy strong growth. In the nine months to September Swisscom chalked up CHF 277 million in revenues from new mobile data services (excluding SMS), a 33% increase compared with the same period last year.

The prepaid NATEL® data easy offering is an addition to the Mobile Unlimited family and is ideal for customers on the move who occasionally want to access the Internet, e-mails or company data via their laptop. The new offering is available from 24 November 2008 at all Swisscom sales outlets, Mobilezone and selected specialist dealers. For CHF 149, customers will receive an introductory package that includes the E172 Unlimited USB modem, a SIM card and CHF 20 of data credit, making them optimally equipped for mobile Internet access via their laptop.

With no fixed monthly fee, customers can surf with NATEL® data easy for up to CHF 7.50 a day. Any additional data traffic generated on the same calendar day is free. Up to the cost ceiling of CHF 7.50, billing is at the rate of CHF 1 per megabyte in 10-kilobyte increments. NATEL® data easy customers will therefore be in complete control of their costs when it comes to mobile surfing. Usage outside Switzerland will incur roaming charges. Credit can be topped up via the customary NATEL® easy channels.
